How to Download Bluesky Videos on PC (Windows and Mac)
Save Bluesky videos to your Windows or Mac computer as MP4 files with no software to install.
Downloading a Bluesky video to your PC is a two-step process: copy the post link, then use an online downloader to save the MP4 file. No software installation is required on either Windows or Mac.
Windows
Step 1 — Get the post URL
Open Bluesky in any desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox). Click the three-dot menu on the post and choose "Copy post link."
Step 2 — Download the video
Go to the Bluesky Video Downloader, paste the URL, and click Download MP4. Your browser will save the file to the default downloads folder (C:\Users\<you>\Downloads on most Windows machines).
Step 3 — Find the file
Open File Explorer and navigate to Downloads. The file will be named after the post ID and end in .mp4.
Mac
The steps are identical. Safari, Chrome, and Firefox all support the download. Files land in ~/Downloads by default. If Safari asks to open the file rather than save it, hold Option while clicking the download button, or right-click and choose "Download Linked File."
Using VLC or QuickTime
Once the MP4 is on your PC or Mac, open it with VLC, QuickTime, Windows Media Player, or any video editor. The file is a standard H.264 MP4 with no DRM.
Tips for bulk saving
If you need to save multiple videos, open each post in a separate tab, copy each URL, and download them one at a time. The tool handles one URL at a time.
Only public Bluesky posts that contain native video can be downloaded. Posts with embedded YouTube or external links are not supported.
